Women Who Care 2023

The weather was hot - but the warmth in the hearts of the women who attended the 2023 Women Who Care event was the most notable part! The new pavilion at apple Creek Orchard was the beautiful venue, catered by Arna Farmer with Tamera Ordahl of Wondrous Vines and Wines providing a variety of Indian Island Wines from Haskell's.

The ladies also enjoyed apples and cider from the orchard, and a variety of cheeses from Caves of Faribault.

Despite the heat, the women took advantage of hayrides and other activities provided by Apple Creek Orchard.

Thanks to our sponsor:

Throughout the event women were invited to add an apple to the tree with their hopes and dreams for Faribault. The lovely hand painted tree was donated by Ann Meillier.

Over 100 women showed up to support the Faribault Community Foundation 100 Women Who Care event. The unique fundraiser brings philanthropic women together for some social time and charitable giving.

Each woman contributes $100.00 to the fund. Then each one also nominates their favorite charity for a chance to become one of three finalists.

Here Karen Zeller, committee member (in red) and Laura Bock, Faribault Foundation Executive Director are drawing the three finalists.

The three finalists were each invited to speak about the nonprofit organization they represent.

Then everyone voted for one to receive a $5000.00 grant from the proceeds of the event.

After the votes were all counted. The winner of the grant was announced.

This event has an amazing committee that plans every detail. Many thanks to these women;

Donna Crowl, Gail Kohl, Karen Zeller, Pam Betsinger and Kymn Anderson.

And thanks to every single wonderful, generous woman who attended or donated to make this event a great success.
