Everyone can be a philanthropist!

Through a community foundation, gifts large and small

can come together for the greater good.

  • You can invest in the work of the Foundation by donating to the Founders Fund.  This unique program allows you to support the Foundation and contribute to the Founders Discretionary Grant funds to improve the quality of life in Faribault.  Qualifying gifts give donors recognition as Founders Society Members in perpetuity.

  • The Community Opportunity Fund provides the annual CommUnity Micro Grants. Many people give an annual gift of $365. representing a dollar a day.  When giving a gift in honor or in memory of someone, this fund is a great choice. Consider an annual gift to the Community Opportunity Fund.

  • Community Foundations are uniquely connected to the community they serve.  We have established funds with key local nonprofits for their benefit.  Donors have many options for their philanthopy.  You can donate to any of the existing funds managed by the Faribault Foundation   (Click here for the list)

  • Create a new fund that aligns with your charitable goals and benefits the Faribault Area in ways that are most important to you. (Click here for the types of funds to consider.)

  • Donate in honor or in memory of someone.  When you do this, you can specify the fund or cause you wish to support.  Unspecified gifts will be added to the Community Opportunity fund.

  • Contribute to a special project - like the Viaduct Park!  (Click here for details) The Faribault Foundation is the fundraising arm for the new park downtown.  We can offer naming rights for emenities and recognition for all gifts over $1000.

  • Open your own Donor Advised Fund (DAF) flexible or endowment fund.  A DAF is a simple way for you to organize and execute your regular charitable giving. You set up a fund with the Faribault Foundation, deposit into the fund, receive maximum tax benefits and then direct eligible grants to be distributed within the community. It’s a little like having a private foundation, and we manage all of the administrative tasks for you.  Here are some links for understand more about DAF's.
