As we approach the end of 2025, there is so much to look back on with pride. This has been a year of meaningful momentum for the Faribault Foundation — a year shaped by generosity, collaboration, and a shared belief in what Faribault can accomplish when we all work together.
In 2025, we saw the impact of local philanthropy grow in ways that were both inspiring and deeply encouraging. From expanding charitable assets to welcoming new donors and partners, this year I was reminded time and time again that people care deeply about Faribault and its future. Fifteen new charitable funds were established, broadening opportunities for individuals, families, and organizations to support the causes closest to their hearts. The idea of planting an acorn whose shade the gardener may never personally enjoy was not lost on our donors — and their generosity will benefit our community for generations.
We also celebrated the growth of the Founders Society, whose members continue to strengthen the Foundation’s long-term ability to invest in Faribault. One of the most exciting milestones was awarding the first grants from the Founders Fund. Supporting projects that foster connection, care, and community vibrancy is exactly why this fund was created. These grants reinforced something we already know generosity is not abstract. It creates real, meaningful change right here at home. Throughout 2025, the Foundation granted to dozens of organizations, with most of those dollars staying in Faribault and supporting the nonprofits working tirelessly for our neighbors.
As 2025 wraps up, we are poised to begin 2026 with growth in mind — not growth for its own sake, but growth that leads to deeper and wider impact. The needs in our community continue to evolve, and the Foundation is preparing to meet them with greater capacity, stronger partnerships, and enhanced support for the organizations doing critical work every day.
Our strategic focus for 2026 includes expanding our ability to serve local nonprofits, strengthening donor engagement, and developing new initiatives that address long-term community priorities. As the Foundation grows, so does its potential to enrich the quality of life for everyone who calls Faribault home.
The generosity that built this year’s successes is the same generosity that will carry us into 2026 with confidence. To everyone who contributed time, talent, or treasure — thank you. Your commitment is shaping a stronger future for Faribault. And if we have not had the chance to meet yet, I would love to connect in the new year. Conversations about the causes that matter most to you are my favorite part of this work, and I am here as a resource for you.
As we turn the page to a new year, we do so with deep gratitude for all that has been accomplished — and great anticipation for what lies ahead. Together, we are creating lasting impact for the community we love.
