The Faribault Foundation, Northfield Shares and the Lonsdale Foundation, collaborated to host an educational meeting about future philanthropy.

Aiden Opatz, University of Minnesota Community Economics Educator shared recent research with about 70 people gathered at The Inn at Shattuck.
Foundation board members, financial consultants, nonprofit representatives and other professionals heard a presentation on the significant transfer of wealth coming in the next 10 years as assets transfer between generations. What that means for philanthropy was studied by the MN Council of Foundations, who also presented their findings to the group.
The University of Minnesota Study can be downloaded below.
Local community foundations around the state and nation are incorporating this information into their outreach to donors, financial advisors, estate planners, and non-profit partners.
