Happy New Year’s wishes from the Faribault Foundation! If you are reading this in the third week of January, pause for a moment and ask yourself: How am I doing on my resolutions? Are you still on track three weeks in? Are you already feeling resolution exhaustion? Or maybe you didn’t resolve to make any changes for 2026 at all—and that’s okay too.

I didn’t have an ambitious plan to change my lifestyle or start a new routine this year. Instead, I resolved to organize and increase my giving.

The Faribault Foundation recently launched recurring online donations, and it couldn’t have been easier to keep this resolution. In less than five minutes, I set myself up for a successful—and meaningful—2026. Recurring gifts provide reliable support by growing endowment funds that are carefully invested and grown—creating dependable,

annual grant support for the causes donors care about most.

To get started, visit www.faribaultfoundation.org and browse the Find A Fund button at the top of the page.

You’ll find twenty funds available for donors to support. Over the past two years, a wide variety of funds, most of them endowments, have been created to support well-known nonprofits and popular charitable causes right here in our community. If you look through the list and don’t see what you’re hoping to support, I’d love to talk with you—but I digress.

For my recurring donation this year, I chose the CommUnity Opportunity Fund. This fund awards CommUnity Microgrants to local nonprofits for programming support. Grants range from $500 to $1,000 and are selected by a grant committee and approved by the Foundation’s board of directors, so I know my philanthropic dollars are in wise and thoughtful hands.

Once you determine which fund best suits your charitable style, simply click Donate, select Recurring Donation, and choose an amount you know you can afford monthly, quarterly, or yearly. You might even challenge yourself to stretch just a little, could you give a bit more? Every dollar truly helps, so give what feels right for you.

Select Donate again, enter your information, and you’re all set. You’ll receive an email confirmation, and voilà—you’ve accomplished your 2026 resolution to organize and increase your charitable giving.
