The Faribault Foundation is proud to announce the partnership with the Faribault High School Distinguished Alumni Program with the formation of the Distinguished Alumni Fund. This new fund will support programs within the Faribault Public Schools that promote philanthropy, leadership, and pathways to exceptional success. Grants awarded from this fund will encourage the next generation of distinguished alumni to strive for excellence! This fund celebrates the excellence fostered by Faribault Public Schools. Annually, the fund honors graduates of Faribault High School who have demonstrated notable achievements and meaningful contributions through service, extraordinary professional accomplishments, or volunteer work.
The Distinguished Alumni High Flyer Award, established in 2017, recognizes graduates of Faribault High School who have made distinctive contributions to benefit others through humanitarian activities or personal and professional accomplishments following high school.
The connection with the Faribault Foundation establishes a dedicated fund for philanthropic gifts from successful alumni and others who support the mission. Future grants from this fund will help current students achieve exceptional success and support worthy community projects.
Jill Fagerlund, chair of the Distinguished Alumni committee encouraged nominations. She said families getting together for the holidays could discuss possible nominations. Read the bios of the diverse group of alums that have already been honored. “It is incredible how much talent and success has been launched by the education received at Faribault High School. There are artists, scientists, business leaders and entrepreneurs that have been celebrated so far. The High Flyers are evidence of the remarkable careers and incredible success our local alumni have achieved.”
Every year, the Distinguished Alumni committee seeks nominations of past graduates of Faribault High School to honor. The deadline for 2026 nominations is January 1, 2026.
An annual celebration reception is held in the spring to honor each year’s cohort. Read information on past cohorts on the School District website.
These inductees must be at least 10 years out of high school and have attained a high level of achievement in at least one of the following areas:
Personal and/or professional life
Community service
Humanitarian activities
Laura Bock, Foundation Executive director has this to say, “The Faribault Foundation welcomes the distinguished alumni program to our fund family. Supporting programs at Faribault High School and in the Faribault community to encourage the development of the next generation of distinguished alumni is an honor, and the Foundation is excited for the future impact of this new fund.”
