The Faribault Foundation is proud to announce the first inaugural Founders Fund Grant. The Founders Fund is a discretionary endowment established through the Hand Up Campaign, designed to support the Faribault Foundation and to provide grants into the community. Members of the Founders Society have contributed to the Founders Fund.

This inaugural grant of $10,000. to the Community Café was selected by the Faribault Foundation Board of Directors in accordance with its granting and spending policies.

The Community Cafe is a ministry of The Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour.

Every week since 2009, a free warm meal is served to 250 to 300 people. The Community Cafe has become an important gathering place, for people to join their friends and neighbors for a meal and conversation, or to grab a meal to take home.

One of the unique features of the Community Cafe is that it’s run entirely by volunteers. Volunteers come from twelve different faith communities, and number well over 100. They work in three shifts every Tuesday, which includes meal preparation and serving, and clean-up.

The Community Cafe is a 501C3 non-profit organization. The Cafe’s accepts tax-deductible donations, and all financial gifts are used to purchase food for the community.

The Faribault Foundation is proud to support this outstanding community effort. You can be part of the Founders Society, and help support grantmaking like this in the future.
