In the summer of 2025, Diane Hunt contacted the Faribault Foundation with clarity and resolve. She had learned her time in this life was limited. True to who she was, she chose not to dwell in fear, but to organize her affairs with intention and purpose.
Working alongside her trusted attorney, financial advisor, and accountant, Diane chose the Foundation to steward her legacy — not just for a season, but for all time.
Diane was born on May 17, 1958, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Gordon and Eileen (Sammon) Hunt. A proud graduate of Faribault Senior High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science from St. Catherine University and her M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
She was an excellent student — but more than that, she was driven by excellence and by a desire to improve lives.
Blessed with exceptional expertise in marketing and branding, a patient-first mindset, and an unmatched work ethic, Diane built an extraordinary career in healthcare and life sciences. Her work advanced life-changing patient solutions around the world.
Among her many achievements:
Collaborating on the pioneering maze procedure to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib), saving countless lives
Leading the global launch of Vscan™, the world’s first handheld ultrasound machine, revolutionizing diagnostic care
Driving the commercialization of dialysis therapies, bringing hope to patients with kidney failure
Partnering with scientists at Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to develop and manufacture drugs that cure disease, impacting millions
It is a heartbreaking twist of fate that Diane ultimately succumbed to ALS — a disease with no treatment or cure — after dedicating her life to advancing healthcare solutions for others.
Her career took her across the United States and around the globe, where she built friendships across continents. She was known as an inclusive and inspirational leader with a winning spirit. Diane led with authenticity and empathy, drawing others in with her unwavering commitment to excellence. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a source of encouragement, growth, and healing for many.
Despite her global impact, her roots remained here.
Her journey is a testament to the power of community, relentless dedication, and a passion for making a difference.
The Diane Hunt Legacy Fund

Through the Diane Hunt Legacy Fund, her impact will continue. The fund supports two distinct but equally meaningful initiatives:
Support for Individuals Affected by Neuromuscular Diseases. And support for Women’s Advancement and Wellbeing.
Diane thoughtfully named a fund advisor who will recommend grants from the fund, ensuring that her values continue to guide its impact for generations to come.
Her legacy and spirit now live on — in Faribault and far beyond.
A Gentle Invitation
Diane chose to shape what would endure beyond her lifetime. You may not have control over your destiny. But you can have control over your legacy.
What values do you want to carry forward? What causes deserve to outlive you?
What difference could your life continue to make?
When you include the Faribault Foundation in your estate plans, you are not simply making a gift. You are shaping the future of this community and the causes you care about — forever.
That is legacy.
And it begins with a conversation.
